Adult Beginning Knitting
Thursdays, April 9th, 16th & 23rd or Tuesdays, June 9th, 16th, 23rd 5:30 to 7:30
Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, yarn-over and bind off while creating a
washcloth in this three session class. The class will also cover the
importance of gauge, needle size, reading a label and the difference
in weights of yarn.

Skill Level: Excited and eager to learn
Materials: Size 8 needles and one skein worsted weight yarn.


February Lady Sweater
Tuesdays, April 21st, May 5th May 19th 5:30 to 7:30
"A swingy lace cardigan” This sweater combines three of Elizabeth Zimmermann's favorite things; garter stitch, simple and easy to memorize lace and no seaming! This pattern can be very easily modified. Download pattern from http://www.flintknits.com/blog/?p=151
Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner
Material: O Wool Classic, Lorna’s Laces or Araucania Aysen, Size 8 needles or size to get gauge.

Cable Tea Cozy
Saturday, April 25th, May 2nd 1:30 to 3:30
Learn how to make cables in this fun pattern. There are three sizes to choose from so you can make just the right size for your tea pot.
Material: Worsted weight yarn, needles to get gauge (US 7) and cable needle
Skill Level: Knit and purl

Ballet Slippers
Thursdays, May 7th, 14th 5:30 to 7:30
These pleated ballet flats are the perfect slipper to keep your feet warm in the springtime. They would also make a sweet gift for someone special.
Material: 120 yds heavy worsted to chunky yarn. 2- 24” circular size 7 needles
Skill Level: Knit, purl, increase and decrease.

Magic Loop Toe up with a “Pattern”
Tuesdays May 12th, 26th 5:30 to 7:30
The second sock syndrome is solved; make them at the same time with a 40” circular needle and now Chauntel is adding a extra twist to this class, she will bring a book of patterns and you will choose one for your sock. This class is limited to 4 knitters.
Skill level: Know all the techniques for knitting socks. Materials: One 40” circular needle size 2 or 3 depending on your tension, one skein of Alpaca Sox or Misti Alpaca Sock.

Green Gable Sweater
Saturdays, May 30th, June 6th, 20th 11:00 to 1:00
This is a great first sweater and perfect for spring. It has a lacey yoke and is worked in the round for easy finishing.

Skill Level: Knit and purl
Homework: Gauge swatch 20 st for 4 inches on size 6 needle
Materials needed: Blue Sky Alpaca Skinny Cotton, Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece or Clip mercerized cotton. Size 4 & 6 in 20” & 32” circulars

Whisper Cardigan
Tuesday, June 2nd, 16th, 30th 5:30 to 7:30
This is a fine delicate lace weight cardigan that is in the Spring‘09 issue of Interweave Knits. It has sweet, barely there bell sleeves and a single rib-edged neckline. It has a clever, simple construction that is easy to knit and flattering to wear.
Material: 880 yards of Eco Butterfly lace weight yarn, size 7 needle in 12” circular or dpn’s, size 2 & 4 in 24” circular needles or size to get gauge.
Skill Level: Intermediate beginner

Crochet Classes

Beginning Crochet
Saturdays, April 18th & 25th 11:00 to 1:00
The combination of single, double and the shell stitch makes this adorable beanie an easy first project and great gift.

Materials: Crochet Basics by Vogue Knitting On the Go, one skein of Malabrigo Silky Merino and size G hook
Skill Level: Excited and eager to learn

Tuesdays April 14th & 28th 5:30 to 7:30
The “Clapochet” is the crochet version of the popular knitted Clapotis. It is also worked on the diagonal, with chain spaces throughout. The final result can be worn two ways, scrunched up and worn as a scarf or spread out and worn as a shawl.
Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner

Crochet “In the Bag” market tote
Saturdays, May 30th and June 6th 1:30 to 3:30
Summer is coming and this tote is perfect for taking to the beach or farmer’s market. When you’re not using the bag it folds right into the pouch that is also the tote’s base.
Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner
Materials: Knit Simple Spring/Summer 2009 Magazine, Size D hook (or size needed for gauge), One hank Euroflax Sport Weight.
