Winter Classes

Happy Holidays

We have finished our Winter Class Schedule early…Hooray!! It is full of a variety of levels for knitting and crochet. And even a field trip is included in one of the classes!

Just a reminder we have started our Holiday Hours: Monday 11-7, Tuesday – Friday 11-5:30, Saturday 11-5 and Sunday 12-4 until December 23rd. We will be closed December 24th, 25th & 26th for Christmas and December 31st & January 1st for New Years.

Remember if you are finding it hard to finish your projects at home because of everything else that needs to be done, join us on Monday for the Knitting Social starting at 5:00 or come in anytime to enjoy our comfortable couch.

“Bird in the Hand” Fair Isle Mittens
Saturdays, January 10th and 17th 11:00 to 1:00 *Full*

These adorable Fair Isles mittens will keep your hands toasty warm during the winter months. See if you can find the sweet little bird!
Skill: Intermediate Beginner, familiar with DPN’S and Fair Isle is helpful.
Materials: Kate Gilbert pattern, one skein each color of Munch super wash, size 2 DPN’s

Beginning Crochet
Wednesdays, January 7th, 14th 5:30 to 7:30 *Full*

The combination of single, double and the shell stitch makes this adorable beanie an easy first project and great gift.
Materials: Crochet Basics by Vogue Knitting On the Go, one skein of Malabrigo Silky Merino and size G hook
Skill Level: Excited and eager to learn

Baby Surprise Jacket & Zeebee hat
Tuesdays, January 13th, 27th and February 3rd 5:30 to 7:30

Elizabeth Zimmermann's Baby Surprise Jacket is made in one piece, then
with creative folding, sewing two side seams and buttons it's done. The matching “Zeebee” hat can be made with the left over yarn for a darling baby gift.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Materials: Chauntel used 2 skein’s of Lorna's Laces worsted, 24"circular in size for gauge of 5 st's for 1 inch
Homework: Cast on 160 stitches

Adult Beginning Knitting
Thursdays, January 15th, 22nd & 29th 5:30 to 7:30 *Full*
Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, yarn-over and bind off while creating a
washcloth in this three session class. The class will also cover the
importance of gauge, needle size, reading a label and the difference
in weights of yarn
Skill Level: Excited and eager to learn
Materials: Size 8 needles and one skein worsted weight yarn.


Crochet Fluffy Bunny Slippers
Wednesdays, January 21st, 28th 5:30 to 7:30

These cute bunny slippers are for the child in all of us!
Skill Level: Intermediate beginner
Materials: The Happy Hooker Book, Brown Sheep Lambs Pride 2 skeins and Sublime 2 skeins. H crochet hook

Beginning Sweater
Saturdays, January 31st, February 7th & 21st 11:00 to 1:00

Join Joanna as she walks you through the steps of making your first sweater. The sweater is a split neck, ¾ length raglan sleeve pullover. It is perfect to dress up or down! Pattern included.
Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner
Materials: Medium worsted weight yarn, size 8 needles or size to get gauge.


Two Toe-up socks on Magic Loop **New date added**
Tuesdays, March 3rd & 10th 5:30 to 7:30

The second sock syndrome is solved; make them at the same time with a 40” circular needle.
Skill level: Know all the techniques for knitting socks
Materials: One 40” circular needle size 2 or 3 depending on your tension, one skein of Alpaca Sox or Misti Alpaca Sock.

First Hat
Thursdays, February 12th and 19th 5:30 to 7:30

Winter is here and it’s time to make your first hat. Learn how to knit in the round and use double point needles.
Skill Level: Knit and purl
Materials: Worsted weight yarn with size 8 16” circular needle and size 8 double point needles.
Homework: knit a 4” x 4” gauge swatch

Waves of Grain Lace Scarf

This generously sized scarf is a beautiful way of incorporating lace weight yarn and beads, you will be knitting two identical halves with beaded ends then graft them together in the middle. Your first class will be a “Field Trip” to the Gem and Bead fair to find the perfect beads (bring your gauge swatch or yarn to match beads) . This class is limited to 5 knitters.
Skill Level: Intermediate, experience reading a chart is helpful but not necessary.
Homework: Do a gauge swatch. 24 sts/32rows = 4 inches in Lace pattern using smaller needles, measured after blocking. Copy the pattern at
Materials: 620 yds of lace weight, we suggest Lorna’s Lace, Misti Alpaca Lace, Filatura Superior or Blue Heron, 112 size 6/0 foil lined seed beads, Crochet hook or fine gauge wire small enough to fit through holes in beads, size #5 & 7 needles.

Amigurumi Lion
Wednesday, February 25th, March 4th 5:30 to 7:30

This cute lion is crocheted in the round using single crochet stitches. He will make both children and adults smile!
Skill Level: Intermediate Beginner
Materials: Arigurumi World book, One skein of each color of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece, size G crochet hook

Beginning Lace

Saturdays, March 7th and 14th 11:00 to 1:00 *Two places left*

We will make the Leaf Lace Washcloth from Fiber Trends. Learn the mechanics of lace knitting, the provisional cast on and how to read a lace chart. Pattern included.
Skill Level: Know how to knit and purl.
Materials: Hemp for Knitting, Hempton, Size 5 needles or size to get gauge.

First Sock
Thursdays, March 19th and 26th 5:30 to 7:30

Learn what all the excitement is about knitting your own socks! Using Knitting Pure and Simple’s pattern and double point needles, we will teach you the basic sock. Pattern is included.
Skill: Be familiar with Double Point Needles, know the long tail cast on, knit and purl.
Materials: Worsted weight yarn and size 6 double point needles.
Homework: Cast on and follow pattern for a total of 5 inches.
