Adult Beginning Knitting

Learn how to cast on, knit, purl, yarn-over and bind off while creating a
washcloth in this three session class. The class will also cover the
importance of gauge, needle size, reading a label and the difference
in weights of yarn.

Magic Loop Toe up with a “Pattern”

The second sock syndrome is solved; make them at the same time with a 40” circular needle and now Chauntel is adding a extra twist to this class, she will bring a book of patterns and you will choose one for your sock. This class is limited to 4 knitters.

Clapochet

The “Clapochet” is the crochet version of the popular knitted Clapotis. It is also worked on the diagonal, with chain spaces throughout. The final result can be worn two ways, scrunched up and worn as a scarf or spread out and worn as a shawl.

Spring additions to Knit & Pearl


Our Namaste collection has expanded to include the Buddy Cases, the mini Cozy’s and their new bag design Zuma (not shown) in all colors.

Shawl pins to adorn your knitted and crocheted wraps and shawls have arrived also.


Eco Butterfly Organic Yarns is our newest addition. We’re carrying their Pakucho, Monarch, Swallowtail and Pakucho Lace weight. This cotton is certified organic and fair trade so anyone can feel good about their purchase. Clara Parkes of Knitter Review, reviewed Pakucho cotton and said “I find the naturally pigmented colors extremely beautiful, and I appreciate that its creation treads lightly on the environment.”

Up coming classes

This generously sized lace scarf with beaded accents on the ends dresses up an outfit for an evening out or a special occasion. Your first meeting will be a field trip with Chauntel to the Gem & Bead fair to find those perfect beads on February 21st, then here at the store on February 24th/March 17th.


Amigurumi Lion What is Amigurumi, well it is a word derived from a combination of the the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. This adorable amigurumi crochet lion stands approximately 11 inches (9 inches sitting) so it makes him just the right size for holding, loving and play for children of any age. This class begins February 25th.

Winter Classes

Happy Holidays

We have finished our Winter Class Schedule early…Hooray!! It is full of a variety of levels for knitting and crochet. And even a field trip is included in one of the classes!

Just a reminder we have started our Holiday Hours: Monday 11-7, Tuesday – Friday 11-5:30, Saturday 11-5 and Sunday 12-4 until December 23rd. We will be closed December 24th, 25th & 26th for Christmas and December 31st & January 1st for New Years.

Remember if you are finding it hard to finish your projects at home because of everything else that needs to be done, join us on Monday for the Knitting Social starting at 5:00 or come in anytime to enjoy our comfortable couch.

This generously sized scarf is a beautiful way of incorporating lace weight yarn and beads, you will be knitting two identical halves with beaded ends then graft them together in the middle. Your first class will be a “Field Trip” to the Gem and Bead fair to find the perfect beads (bring your gauge swatch or yarn to match beads) . This class is limited to 5 knitters.
Skill Level: Intermediate, experience reading a chart is helpful but not necessary.
